CLA provides adult learners with a professional and supportive environment in which they can meet their goals through education and skills training.

CLA seeks to be well known as the first stop for adults on their journey to further education and training.

    Objective 1

    Raise CLA’s profile through innovative programs, growing partnerships, and marketing

    • Identify and develop purpose-built programming with our partners
    • Raise our profile in the community and engage new partners through marketing
    • Engage with underserved members of our community

    Objective 2

    Build societal awareness of literacy and its relation to health, wellness, and employment.

    • Inform local communities of CLA’s mission and mandate
    • Engage key employers to share information on needs and capabilities
    • Ensure that service groups and other initiatives are aware of the impacts of low literacy

    Objective 3

    Develop highly competent instructors and volunteers to provide high-quality service.

    • Attract and retain employees within current funding parameters
    • Execute a training and development program to ensure flexible and high quality instruction
    • Recruit volunteers to complement current staff capacity

    Objective 4

    Increase the number of learners we serve by securing additional general and specific funding.

    • Meet targets to maintain current funding levels
    • Seek additional funding to address provincial goals and projects
    • Secure funding for wrap-around supports, rural service delivery, and to expand our influence
